Choosing and processing the images for this sneak preview has been making me so happy – there are so many knock-out shots to pick from and it brought back memories of Lucy & Chris’s great wedding day last month at the pretty wonderful Kensington Roof Gardens, where we were delighted to photograph Mimi and Charlie’s wedding the week before.

Lucy and Chris are a great couple and their wedding guests were such fun – despite the early autumnal chill in the air everyone had a fantastic time.  And as you’ll see, Lucy really rocked the vintage style she’d chosen in a totally gorgeous Jenny Packham gown and all the perfect hair and make-up touches.  I started my day with Lucy at the beautiful Gore Hotel where she had chosen to get ready (note for brides – if you do fancy treating yourself, getting ready in a lovely hotel room will make for some gorgeous photographs not to mention making you feel pampered and special!) with the ceremony and reception taking place at the Roof Gardens.

Not as pretty as Lucy of course, but Splosh and Pecks – the resident Kensington Roof Gardens flamingos – put on a good show…

Mimi and Charlie first found us from having seen one of our weddings (Fran & David) featured in You & Your Wedding magazine and we met up with them for the first time on a trip down to London where we were shooting some pre-wedding sessions. It really wasn’t that long ago when it all happened, and we were very excited to find out that we’d be shooting at Kensington Roof Gardens for their reception. So the day came and Erica started off in Wimbledon covering all of the activites as Mimi and her bridesmaids made their preparations. Doesn’t Mimi make a stunning bride?

While Erica was doing that, I joined Charlie, his best men and ushers at the Crooked Billet in Wimbledon…

Mimi’s arrival at St. Mary’s Church in Wimbledon. Apart from the expression of sheer excitement on Mimi’s face in this shot, what I also love about it is the fact that in the reflection you can see her dad looking proudly on, and Mimi’s bridesmaids on standby.

Jackie and Neil are a lovely couple. They’re the kind of people that make you feel like you’ve known them for years, and with that it makes them extremely easy to get on with and fun to be around. What’s more, they’re lovely together and because of that Erica and I had been really looking forward to capturing the special bond between them and preserving their memories for them to look back on for years and years to come. From beginning to end, Jackie, Neil and their family and friends made us feel so welcome and it was a real pleasure to photograph their wedding. They tied the knot at Northcote Manor in Blackburn, with a Michelin-starred restaurant…needless to say Erica and I REALLY enjoyed our meal! Jackie and Neil had also gotten permission for me to have access to the kitchens, so I was in there in the baking heat watching the creation of the food for the wedding party, and getting to document all the activity. I have to say that was a first for me and it was pretty exciting to be in amongst all the hectic hustle and bustle of a professional kitchen- things were extremely fast-paced and it was a brilliant challenge working in the middle of it all. Hope you had a wonderful time in the Lake District, Jackie and Neil, and here’s a small sneak preview….we’ll look forward to sharing all the photographs with you!

I hunted this lovely spot out (below) while the guests were eating. I was so pleased that Jackie and Neil didn’t mind fighting with the undergrowth to get to it…I think it was well worth it….
