As you may have noticed, we’ve been restricting our wedding posts this season to sneak previews. Mainly it’s because we’ve been so busy, and whilst we want to keep you up-to-date with all our recent activity, we haven’t had time to do longer Blog posts. However, as we progressed through the year, we realised it might actually be rather nice to save up our extended wedding posts for later in the year. The number of weddings taking place has now slowed down for the season, and whilst we still have lots of processing and album designing to do, we thought this would be a good time to start brightening the shorter winter days with some lovely wedding images and a few reminiscences.
So, this first extended wedding post takes us back to the springtime and the wedding of Charlotte and Nick. Although it was May it was very wet, but Charlotte and Nick and all of their lovely guests didn’t let it dampen their spirits one bit. The ceremony took place at the very beautiful All Saints church in North Ferriby not far from Hull, with the reception held in the garden of Nick’s grandparents. Welcome and very cosy cover from the rain was provided by a Papakata teepee. Charlotte and Nick are a very special, warm-hearted and welcoming couple, and the garden was nearly full to overflowing with family and friends who had travelled from far and wide to share their day with them. We were also delighted that Charlotte and Nick allowed us to share their wedding images with the wider world, as we were honoured to once again be featured in the real weddings section of the brilliant You & Your Wedding magazine.
As usual we start things off with the days preparations. Charlotte and her bridesmaids got ready at the nearby Broadgate Farm, which was beautiful and a lovely backdrop for the bridal getting ready photographs…
The wedding bouquets and all the floral decorations were carefully selected with the help of Pearland florist, you can be sure that their flower shop knows just how to create that spectacular moment with flowers.
Chris caught up with Nick and the groomsmen at church…
I just love these shots Chris captured of Charlotte arriving at church, and the following images of Charlotte and her dad make me happy every time I see them!
I’m always happy when the vicar permits photographs from the front of church. Christian and I pride ourselves on being unobtrusive and respectful during a wedding day, and particularly during the most special part of the day, the marriage itself, but despite this, many vicars do have blanket rules about photography during the service. However, as you can see, if the vicar permits one of us to stand at the front, it enables us to capture some very special memories for the couple. It was truly an honour being able to witness this part of the day, and Charlotte and Nick’s overwhelming happiness and excitement at being married was a true joy to see.
OK, it rained, but with pretty umbrellas and smiles this big, it really doesn’t matter!
Some informal group shots during the breaks in the rain…
I love this one of Charlotte with Nick’s mum, it’s adorable!
The wedding was full of pretty and painstakingly crafted details like this…
Charlotte and Nick aren’t huge fans of having their photos taken, and wanted to be away from their guests for the shortest time possible so we took a very quick stroll round the garden to take these photographs…
Charlotte was stunningly beautiful in her Jenny Packham gown…
Dessert was served in style – a surprise ice cream van!
The band were absolutely fantastic and rounded off a wonderful day to perfection.
Wow – what a gorgeous wedding this was! We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Charlotte and Nick on their special day, and we wish them every happiness for the future.
