Browsing through our hard drives the other day, it struck us just how many of our ~~images~~, no, weddings have not even seen light of day on our blog. What with the busy-ness of shooting, blogging has been less frequent and inclusive than we’d always like, so in an attempt to remedy that, we’ve had a VERY quick trawl through our files to spot weddings that we’ve not blogged (yet) and put together this collection of random photos that caught our eye on that whistlestop tour of our mammoth electronic archives. This was originally just supposed to be a short post with a few pretty pictures, but it has turned into something altogether bigger! But anyway, to start you off is Emma and Neil who were married in Suffolk, and had the most amazing light just before sundown:

This is the Great Conservatory at Syon Park. Pretty awe-inspiring, and we photographed Nazia and Joel’s wedding there earlier this year.

Emma and Jon were married in the most beautiful Cornish countryside. The clouds rained and the sun shone, but it was probably the most perfect day you could ever experience.

I wish I knew this dog’s name. He/She’s our favourite dog ever to appear at a wedding reception. (He/She needn’t know that they’re the ONLY dog to appear at a wedding reception we’ve photographed). Look out out later as he/she watches and listens to the speeches.

One of my favourite moments during a wedding is when a dad looks over at his daughter just before the ceremony. This is Fran and her dad, just about to head into the ceremony at Stoke Park Pavilions.

See, I told you. I looked out of the marquee while photographing the speeches, and this little guy was sat on a table in the garden watching and listening intently to what was going on. Either that, or he/she was contemplating their next steps towards world domination.

Helen & Dom | Ibiza Wedding in Es Cubells | Destination Wedding Photography

My friend TJ thought it would be a good idea to post this about now, just as it’s starting to get really cold outside, and, in some cases snowy! So to warm you up (or maybe make you feel that bit colder), here’s the whole story of Helen & Dom’s sunny wedding in Es Cubells, Ibiza. Helen is a wedding photographer herself, and it’s always a real honour when a fellow wedding photographer entrusts their special memories to us. The story begins at the chosen location for the wedding, a villa in the Ibizan hills- a place that holds many special memories for Helen and Dom.

Meanwhile, around 15 minutes drive away, Dom and his groomsmen were getting ready at a hotel. Or at least having a swim before getting ready. It was pretty hot at this point. Most people are in swimming attire as you might expect. I’m trying to keep cool in trousers and shirt.

Jim (also a photographer, and also a very nice guy) prepares the drinks. Check out the cufflinks in the shape of New Zealand, where Jim is from.

Jim’s gaze is either one of admiration, or one of ‘I think his tie is tied wrong.’ Or, as I like to think- maybe even a little bit of both.

Only cool socks allowed at this wedding. Luckily I was already prepared in that department, though as there’s no photographic evidence you’ll just have to take my word for it!

Suited up and good to go.

It’s not every day that I do groomsmen photos down on the beach, with lifeguards in the background. And with an inflatable parrot.

Helen and Dom arranged for a babysitter to be at the villa for the wedding to look after all the children. I spotted her cool old car parked in the shade under a tree….

This was just one of the many times I saw Dom being administered Bach’s Rescue Remedy by Jim, the ever attentive best man.

The rings. But not the original rings. When Helen and Dom picked us up from the airport in Ibiza, we soon learnt that the few days leading up to that point had not been straightforward. Unfortunately, an incident occurred and they had a number of bags stolen from them shortly after they arrived. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the bags stolen contained items such as the wedding rings, cash, and Helen’s laptop! By some miracle, they managed to have new rings flown in within just a few days.

Just enough time for a couple of lovely family shots before the ceremony!

You have to love a groom who writes his speech on his iPad. Who needs cue cards?

Ibiza Wedding | Helen & Dom | Sneak Preview

In September Erica and I flew out to Ibiza to photograph Helen and Dom’s wedding. Everybody (including us) had a great time. Here’s a sneaky look.

This is the kind of light I wish I could bottle and bring home.

50mm f1.2 at 1.2. Unbeatable. I loved this photo I took of Helen as soon as I saw it on the back of the camera.

Osma & Zain | London Royal Exchange Wedding

We first met Osma and Zain in front of the red fire engine outside the National Theatre in London. It’s the photography equivalent of saying ‘I’ll be the one wearing the red rose.’ We all hit it off right from the start, and the engagement shoot was a lot of fun, so we were pretty excited for their wedding at the Royal Exchange in London. Zain and Osma very, very kindly put us up in the beautiful Threadneedles Hotel just 2 minutes walk away from the Royal Exchange, and the place where Osma and Zain were getting ready for their big moment. My schedule with Zain started a little later than Erica’s with Osma, so I joined in with the bridal preparations for a while to get a few shots from a different angle and to capture the details. It was a real pleasure to be part of their wedding and to be there to tell the story through our photographs. Thank you Zain and Osma and we hope you enjoy your photographs.

Did I go overboard on the shoe shots? I don’t think so.

It’s been some time since we blogged, so we thought the only way to make up for it would be with a MAMMOTH blog post. We first met Victoria and Simon in Cambridge for their engagement shoot, and we knew then from listening to them talking about their forthcoming wedding at Kirtlington Park in Oxfordshire that it was going to be a pretty special affair. And what a day it was. What began as quite an overcast day soon turned into the most brilliant of sunny days. A special mention must go to Erica’s bridal prep shots during the morning which are just amazing…but I’ll let the pictures tell the story…

Erica and I don’t like to blow our own trumpets, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t things we’re proud of! Over the last few years we’ve had real weddings featured in various magazines, as well as our Pretty Little Gypsy Wedding shoot that was published as a fashion feature in You & Your Wedding magazine and what’s more was the first time You & Your Wedding magazine have published a shoot they’ve not commissioned. We wanted to create a place to gather together all the press we’ve received, and so we thought it fitting to do a short post about it here to herald the new Press section on our main website. It features the front covers to the issues we’ve been in, and it’s fully functional so that you can click on each cover to see the spreads, and if you click on each spread you can also download a PDF of the article for reading at leisure. We’re proud to have our work published in these places and hope to see the Press section become more and more full as time goes on. So here’s a little preview of what it all looks like:

We knew from our pre-wedding shoot with Jen and Tom that their wedding would be a very special affair. And not just because we knew Jen’s design flair would be evident in all the gorgeous details she had planned, but mainly because they were such genuinely lovely people. It was a true pleasure getting to know them, and we enjoyed spending more time with them on their wedding day, which was just as gorgeous as we knew it would be. Rachel & Tom | Inn at Whitewell Wedding Photography | All You Need Is Love

Rachel and Tom are a cool couple. We already knew that from their pre-wedding shoot filled with laughter, chillis, a cauliflower and purple shoes. Tom is a musician and this set the theme for the wedding, and there were little details, subtle touches and references everywhere. Rachel chose what must surely be one of the most colourful palettes we’ve seen yet, and browsing through these images now makes me realise just how beautifully colourful the whole wedding was. Add in copious amounts of love, gorgeous light, and the amazing setting that was the Inn at Whitewell in Clitheroe, and it makes for a pretty perfect day. Take a look for yourself:
