Bernie & John | Wimbledon Common Engagement Shoot

Bernie and John are a lovely couple- warm and friendly- and friends of the equally lovely Polly and Ralph whose wedding we photographed in Suffolk last year. When we met with Bernie and John the other weekend it was the first time we’d met face to face, and in fact we were joking about how when we first chatted to them about their wedding photography, we were in 3 separate locations in the UK, joined together by conference call! So the other weekend we headed down to Wimbledon and spent the morning with John chatting as we strolled around the grounds of the church where they’ll be married in a few months, and Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park. Both the church and Pembroke Lodge look like amazing places for a wedding, and Erica and I are really looking forward to being there. After Bernie was finished being player of the match in a netball away game, we all joined up and headed to Wimbledon Common for their engagement shoot. Wimbledon Common is a place where John and Bernie have spent much time strolling around and indeed the windmill there features in their wedding stationery designs, so it was great to be able to go somewhere for their shoot that means something to them! Here’s how it went:

Helen & Dom | Live from Ibiza!

Here we are in sunny Cala Vadella, Ibiza getting ready for Helen and Dom’s wedding tomorrow. Apologies for any formatting issues with this- it’s all being done on our iPhone! Anyway, this morning saw us up and meeting with Helen and Dom for a whirlwind pre-wedding shoot at the villa where their wedding will be and in the local area…and what a beautiful area it is! Here’s what it all looks like…

Stephanie & Ashley | Clumber Park Engagement Shoot

We met up with Stephanie and Ashley recently for their pre-wedding photoshoot, in what turned out to be a perfectly timed window of glorious weather and light in an otherwise rather gloomy weekend. Their very well chosen location was Clumber Park, which oddly for somewhere so close, Christian and I have only visited once before, during last year’s snow. It was lovely to see it in the sunshine, and even nicer to spend our morning with Stephanie and Ashley, who are clearly perfect together and a dream to photograph. To top it all off in the ‘dream client’ stakes, they even treated us to tea and cake after the shoot while we ran through the plans for their big day next month at St. Peter and St. Paul’s church, Gringley on the Hill, and the Secret Garden. Thanks for a great morning Stephanie and Ashley – we hope you enjoy your photographs!

Zain & Osma | London Engagement Shoot

Apparently the newspapers in the lead-up to Zain and Osma’s engagement photo shoot had been full of predictions that the day in question was going to be a complete wash out….well, the day came and the weather was the exact opposite! As they live in London, Zain and Osma booked us over the telephone, and so their engagement shoot was the first time we’d all met in person. We all met in front of the old fire engine in front of the National Theatre in London, and before we knew it we were chatting like we’d all known each other for a lot longer than a few minutes…Zain has lots of family connections with Canada, and so we needed little encouragement to bond over a shared love of a Vancouver! We all had a lot of fun as we walked along, stopping every so often to take some photos, and I think we could easily have carried on for the whole day. Zain and Osma are to be married at the Royal Exchange in London which promises to be a pretty magical venue for a wedding, and we can’t wait to be there to photograph the day as it unfolds! Catrina & Stuart | Sheffield Botanical Gardens Engagement Photography

Catrina and Stuart are a happy, fun couple to be around, and we had a great time getting to know them both better during their pre-wedding shoot. It was our second visit in as many weeks to Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens, but with a venue as beautiful as this, we were more than happy to return! The lovely couple get married next month, with a reception at picturesque Crow Hill, and we can’t wait for the big day. Thanks for being such fun to photograph Catrina and Stuart – we hope you enjoy your photographs!

Victoria & Simon’s Cambridge Courtship | Engagement Photo Shoot

This was (pretty much) our first trip to Cambridge…I say ‘pretty much’ to account for Erica visiting when she was very young…and what weather we had for exploring this beautiful place steeped in history! It was our first time meeting Victoria and Simon as we’d only spoken on the telephone before, and Simon was a great tour guide filling us in on the history as we walked through the streets and into Trinity College, Cambridge University where Simon studied for a number of years. We were lucky enough that Simon had pre-arranged for us to shoot within the grounds of the College which was perfectly quiet given that term hadn’t yet started. Trinity College is an amazing place and it was inspirational to shoot there. Eventually we made our way to the River Cam where Simon took us all punting, and we then finished off within the beautiful private Fellows Garden. Victoria and Simon are getting married at Kirtlington Park in Oxford and we’re really looking forward to being there to capture their day for them. Thanks for a great engagement shoot, Victoria and Simon, and we’ll see you on your big day!

Mimi & Charlie | Kensington | Sneak Preview

We first met Charlie and Mimi at an apartment in Kensington, so we were pretty excited to be heading back there again for their pre-wedding shoot before they get married in Wimbledon and then at the Kensington Roof Gardens in a few weeks time. So it was up early for the drive to London, the sun was shining, and actually, it was pretty hot, so we started off with a walk through Kensington Palace Gardens and then returned for a few shots inside Charlie’s apartment. As we were walking up the stairs to the sitting room we went past a beautiful chaise longue with an amazing painting hanging behind it- I just had to use that scene and so out came the video light! Thanks for a fun shoot, Mimi and Charlie, and we’ll be looking forward to photographing your big day!

I’m not ashamed to say it- this photo below is currently the background photo on my iPhone. And I keep picking up my iPhone just to look at the photo.

Alison & Keith | Windsor Wonderland | Sneak Preview

Alison and Keith are to be married at the beautiful Englemere in Ascot in just a few weeks time, so we decided to meet up there for a look around the venue together and then move on to nearby Windsor Great Park for their pre-wedding shoot, complete with a number of props that Alison and Keith had brought with them for the shoot. Erica and I had a lovely time strolling around the parkland getting to know Alison and Keith, and here’s just a small selection of photos to give you an idea of what it all looked like! A Windsor Wonderland indeed…

For the photographers among you- I love this f1.2 portrait, even if I say so myself! You just have to love 1.2.
