Louise & Ed’s Perfect Summer Picnic | Pre-wedding shoot

We always offer a pre-wedding shoot with our wedding photography packages. Some people are quite nervous about the photographic aspects of their wedding day which can often be the one and only time they will ever be professionally photographed, and meeting the couple beforehand for a pre-wedding shoot has in every case settled nerves and actually shown that they’ll actually enjoy having us as their photographers. Apart from that, a pre-wedding shoot is just a really good opportunity for Erica and I to get to know the soon-to-be newlyweds and understand more about the dynamics between them and how best to capture this naturally. Some couples choose to keep their pre-wedding shoots simple and pure, whilst others sometimes have more specific ideas for the shoot. Louise and Ed fall into the latter category, which is always quite exciting for us! When planning their pre-wedding shoot we raised the idea of some props and they came back to us with a picnic blanket and a Japanese parasol, among other things, as these things defined what they were about and held some significance in their memories. So the scene was set for a picnic shoot, and for us as photographers this just had to be shot in that golden evening sunlight that we’ve been enjoying an abundance of over recent weeks. Unfortunately the first shoot we scheduled was cancelled due to thunder and rain, but we struck gold on the second try and we were blessed with the most perfect weather on what was the longest day of 2010. Erica and I had great fun, and we know Louise and Ed did too. We can’t wait to photograph their big day at Hargate Hall in Buxton! For now, here’s the full post of some of our favourites from the pre-wedding shoot. Enjoy. (PS- Louise and Ed- thanks again for the very delicious apple and chocolate cake!).
